IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING OIL LEASES

Former Board President John Manifor relates the following information that is importnant for every homeowner within the unincorporated Los Angeles County portion of our association.

John writes: "If your property is located in Los Angeles County and you are a regular member of La Habra Crest Association (with CC&R's on the deed) then you should be receiving oil royalties on your property from Vintage Production or Oxy Royalty . . . the amount is not that much but this was an original agreement back when the LA County homes were in La Habra Heights.  This lease royalty should be on your deed that came with your home when you bought it.  If you are not receiving these payments, then contact the address below.  They will go back retroactively and pay past payments not made to you, but only since you purchased the home.  Unfortunattely, some homeowners are unaware of this royalty.  This lease does not pertain to La Habra Crest Association home located in Orange County.  You can contacgt them at www.oxyroyalty.com , email at owner_relations@oxy.com .  Or by calling (713) 215-7231.  (Address is) Attention: Interest Owner Relations, PO Box 27570, Houston, TX 77227-7570.  Please include your owner number, social security number and address.  Your 'owner number' should be with the original documents when you purchased your home."

Thanks to John Manifor for this info.

THE HOMES OF LA HABRA CREST

The neighborhood of La Habra Crest includes 60 homes in unincorporated Los Angeles County, and 40 homes in the City of La Habra, which is, of course, is in the OC.  This means that the LA County homes receive public safety services from LA County, such as the Sheriff's Department, stationed at Industry Hills Station, and the La Habra residents receive police services from La Habra Police Department.  Both areas are now serviced by Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Back in 1964, when the development was built, the Association was christened, "The La Habra Heights Community Association," which is a misnomer, since none of the LA County residents are part of the City of La Habra Heights.  Nonetheless, we share the same zip code, and are indelibly and historically a part of the Heights.  Look to this site in the future to include further historical and archival data, and even some recollections from "old timers" (i.e., original owners) about life in these parts in the "old days."

INTERESTING FACT FOR THE DAY:  Pictured above right is Basin Park, which may seem not so large, but including "The Knoll" due south, this one park comprises 2.26 acres.
